Rider of the Month - Yony Leclair

I am truly honored to have been selected by Kawasaki as Team Green Canada Rider of the Month! Thank you !

I started riding motorcycles at home in 2013 with a KX85. In late summer, I was invited by friends to go to a Arenacross race. Let me tell you that this is different than riding in the fields! That was awesome and I did two races in 2013.

Summer 2014, I worked hard to win the championship in SXQC Arenacross. I learned so much about motorcycles in 2014, I set a goal for myself in 2015 to win three championships AX, SX and MX Supermini Open Supercross Quebec SXQC. And done; I’ve achieved my goal for 2015.

2015 is my year of transition in the KX100 and KX250. I was able to race in two categories : Class Factory 14-24 years and Junior. The bike is heavier and so powerful in Arenacross, it took me several races to get accustomed. In 2016, I will focus on only one category, Junior. And my goal is nothing other than the SXQC championship, Junior Class.

I appreciate what people are doing for me to allow me to experience the thrill of motocross racing. First, my father and my mother! They traveled with me over 18,000 kilometers this summer to participate in 21 races. My sponsors, Motorized Equipment Les Chutes de Shawinigan Sud (Yves Gervais), Groupe Savoie / Canawick of Saint-Quentin, Sani-Boss, Axxel Suspension, Technikem (Buteau Mathieu and Benoit Morin). And the Pro rider Andy Mathieu. He taught me a style and a way of life, to be humbled and disciplined.
